Start of 2018 Spring Season

This week kicks off our 2018 Spring/Summer Wedding season. It will be taking place in San Diego!! Heather is travelling there on Wednesday to help keep their day stress free…and of course soak up as much sun as possible on her few hours off! Here are a few tips to help all of our Spring and Summer brides with last minute details!!

1- Welcome cocktails are a MUST!
Spring and Summer months bring warm weather and your guests will have an excitement for not only your big day, but for the awesome weather this season brings! What better way to greet your guests than with a seasonal cocktail! Arnold Palmers, Mojitos and Whiskey Sours are some of my favorites!

2. Plan for the best, prepare for the worst- just order the umbrellas!
No…you don’t want it to rain, but if you are getting married in the DC, Maryland or Virginia area, there is an equal chance of rain in every popular wedding month. So if you see a ton of umbrellas on sale, just pick them up.

3. Sunset Photos!
Whatever your take is on a first look (We HIGHLY recommend them), you need to schedule sunset photos. The sun will be setting later in the spring and summer months so prepare yourself and your timeline accordingly.

4. GET THE TENT WALLS!
I cannot stress this enough. You need to add room in your budget for tent walls. Rain is one thing, but have you ever been to a wedding where there is terrible wind? Makes you pray for rain. Just get the walls…thank me later!

5. Layer up in early spring!
When we see the word “May,” closets switch from sweaters to tank tops. But there are still a few more chilly days that seem to peak around the corner. If your wedding is at the end or April or early May, prepare your outside wedding with a few blankets so guests don’t leave early. Or even plan for a late night bonfire with cozy s’mores!
